Wes Lee returns to action with a bang and a win.
After sitting out of action since the December 5, 2023 episode of WWE NXT where he declared that he'd be out of action due to a significant back injury, Lee successfully returned to action on May 7, 2024, defeating Josh Briggs with a Spiral Tap.
The episode started off with a tribute package to Lee which would fade out to a live shot of him coming out to the ring with tears in his eyes.
Unfortunately, he wasn't the complete focal point of this match.
With all eyes on the NXT North American Championship, Ivar would come down to the ring and provide a distraction for Briggs. Both men would then be taken out by Wes Lee in a post-match tope. Oba Femi, the current NXT North American Titleholder would watch all of this go down from high above the perch in the NXT Performance Center.
