See you down the road.
William Regal will be leaving AEW at the end of 2022 as he requested his option not be picked up by the company, which Tony Khan and AEW agreed to honor. Regal will be returning to WWE to be with his son Charlie Dempsey and be a coach. Conditions stipulation that he won't be appearing on WWE TV in 2023.
Regal joined AEW in March at AEW Revolution, uniting Jon Moxley and Bryan Danielson to form the Blackpool Combat Club. The group would add Wheeler Yuta and Claudio Castagnoli. Under Regal's guidance, Moxley would win the AEW Championship, Yuta won the ROH Pure Championship, and Claudio won the ROH Championship.
Taking to social media, Regal bid farewell to his BCC crew, posting the song "Far Far Away" by Slade.
To the members of the BCC. My favourite song by my favourite band who somehow knew when I was a child to write the story that is my life. It’s been a pleasure fellas. We’ll meet again…..https://t.co/cmCXavzlXH via @YouTube pic.twitter.com/pORe3j2hLj

Regal was effectively written off AEW television last Wednesday on AEW Dynamite when he was hit in the back of the head with brass knuckles by MJF. In a pre-recorded promo on Wednesday's Dynamite, Regal explained why he helped MJF and said that BCC will remain strong.
With Regal leaving AEW, it was also announced that his Gentleman Villain podcast on AdFreeShows would no longer continue.
