Willow Nightingale: Mercedes Mone Is Pro-Women's Division And Helps Push Us Forward

Willow Nightingale comments on having Mercedes Mone in AEW.

When she arrived in AEW at AEW Dynamite Big Business in March, Mercedes Mone stepped to Willow Nightingale as she looked to avenge her injury and loss at NJPW Resurgence 2023. Mone and Willow battled for the AEW TBS Championship at AEW Double or Nothing 2024, with Mercedes picking up the victory.

Speaking to Denise Salcedo of Instinct Culture, Willow was asked what it's like having Mercedes in the locker room.

"She is definitely an intimidating aura because she does bring all this star power. She can definitely run her mouth, and she talks her smack. At the end of the day, she is very pro-AEW, women's division, and helps push us forward. I've seen people write down the data, 'Since Mercedes got here, you can see how much more time the women have on-screen.' At the end of the day, she's a cheerleader for us all. I appreciate that. We're all pushing forward together. For her to take the helm and help us get that, I think it's sick as hell," she said.

Willow will face Deonna Purrazzo at AEW Battle of the Belts XI in a CMLL World Women's Championship Eliminator match.

Fightful will have coverage of AEW Battle of the Belts XI beginning at 10 p.m. ET.
