AEW co-Executive Vice Presidents Nick Jackson, Matt Jackson and Kenny Omega make the already-scheduled match for the tag titles.
Members of The Elite and All Elite Wrestling co-Executive Vice Presidents Kenny Omega, Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson were present at the Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo today and they were a part of the Q&A session at the event. During the Q&A, the trio were asked about their 'Double Or Nothing' show in Las Vegas on May 25th. Nick and Matt went on to speak about their match against Pentagon Jr. and Fenix at Double Or Nothing and announced that they'll be defending their newly-won AAA World Tag Team Championships against the Lucha Brothers and here's how that official announcement came to be:
Matt Jackson: “Here’s a spoiler alert: We’re wrestling the Lucha Brothers and we’re gonna kick their ass.”
Nick Jackson: “You know what? I’ll spoil something. How about we put those AAA Titles on the line?"
Matt Jackson: “I don’t think we were supposed to do this.”
Kenny Omega: “That’s a bad idea. What if they beat you for it Nick, huh?”
Nick Jackson: “Well, we kind of run the company so…”
Matt Jackson: “Have a little confidence in us Kenny. For the love of God. Are we making this official right here?"
Kenny Omega: "Lets make it official. Why not?"
Matt Jackson: “It’s already on Reddit. Alright fine. The Young Bucks versus the Lucha Brothers. Lets put the AAA Titles on the line at Double Or Nothing. Done."
Nick Jackson: "It’s booked."
Nick and Matt Jackson made a surprise appearance last weekend at AAA's Rey de Reyes show and had an impromptu match with Pentagon Jr. and Fenix after the two luchadores won the AAA Tag Team Titles in the main event of the show. The closing portions of that impromptu match saw The Young Bucks execute their "Meltzer Driver" finisher to secure the win and the AAA Tag Team Titles.
The Young Bucks documented their travels to Mexico and their AAA Tag Titles win on a recent episode of their 'Being The Elite' YouTube series.
