Yuya Uemura's hair went to a good cause.
Yuya Uemura had to cut his hair after he lost a Hair vs. Hair match against Yota Tsuji at NJPW New Beginning in Sapporo night two.
Speaking with NJPW's website, Uemura commented on losing his hair.
"To have it cut by Tsuji was humiliating. The rules were the loser has to lose their hair, but I wanted to have a samurai mindset- if anyone was going to cut my hair it should be me. It was a matter of accepting what had happened to me. As much as I can talk about winning the next one, I have to accept the fact that I lost this one," Uemura said.
When asked to describe how losing his hair made him feel, Uemura said, "Sad, really. I was proud of my hair, so sad is the only word I have for it."
Uemura then revealed that he donated his hair to a donation center that makes wigs for chemotherapy patients.
"I actually gave the hair to a hair donation place, to make wigs for chemotherapy patients, things like that. Hopefully some use can come from it," Uemura said.
Uemura competed in the New Japan Cup on March 8 and lost to Shingo Takagi in the first round.
