Alexa Bliss 'Shocked' She Was Drafted To Smackdown

Getting drafted to Smackdown this summer as part of the WWE roster split came as a complete surprise to Alexa Bliss.

In a recent interview with The Evening Express to promote the upcoming WWE event in Aberdeen, Scotland, Bliss discussed the night of the draft among a variety of other topics.

"I was really shocked as you have no idea who is being drafted," Bliss said. "We were all sitting at the Performance Centre waiting to see whose picture would go up on the show. As soon as my picture went up I dropped and began crying. It was such an emotional experience and I was overwhelmed. I had been in NXT for more than three years and it felt like all that hard work had paid off. Now I want to push myself to the limits to see what I can do."

For Bliss, next month's upcoming WWE tour of the United Kingdom became even more important. Her match with Becky Lynch for the Smackdown Women's Title, originally scheduled for last night's No Mercy pay-per-view event, now will take place November 8 in Glasgow, Scotland. The championship match was rescheduled after Lynch was not cleared due to what was described by WWE on the broadcast as an "out-of-ring medical situation."

Bliss still wrestled at No Mercy, losing to Naomi which may mean a rematch for Bliss' No. 1 contendership in the near future.

A native of Columbus, Ohio, Bliss has spent the entirety of her wrestling career under the WWE umbrella.
