A lightweight division attraction has been added to UFC Fight Night: Santos vs. Teixeira as Matt Frevola faces Roosevelt Roberts.
MMA Junkie first reported the bout, whose spot on the card isn’t known at this time.
Frevola (8-1-1) enters the bout riding a two fight winning streak, picking up wins over the duo of Jalin Turner and Luis Pena. Frevola hasn’t suffered a defeat in almost three years, with that last loss coming to Marco Polo Reyes at UFC Fight Night St. Louis. Frevola also competed on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series Episode 8, defeating Jose Flores by second round submission.
Roberts (10-2-0) has won two of his last four under the UFC banner, with those wins coming over Alexander Yakovlev and Brok Weaver. Roberts has suffered two losses thus far as a professional MMA fighter and both of them came during UFC competition. Roberts also competed on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series Episode 15, defeating Garrett Gross by second round submission.
UFC Fight Night: Santos vs. Teixeira takes place on Saturday, September 12 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada with Thiago Santos and Glover Teixeira headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, while broadcast plans have yet to be revealed.
