A welterweight division attraction may be coming to UFC Fight Night Sao Paulo according to Combate as #8 Neil Magny faces #14 Alex Oliveira.
Magny (21-6-0) is entering the contest on the strength of a two fight winning streak, defeating the duo of Craig White and former UFC Interim Welterweight Champion Carlos Condit. Magny hasn’t suffered a defeat in almost a year, with that last loss coming to former UFC Lightweight Champion Rafael Dos Anjos at UFC 215. Magny also competed on the UFC Ultimate Fighter 16, making it to the semi-finals before losing to Mike Ricci.
Oliveira (18-5-1-2NC) has won three of his last four under the UFC banner, with those victories coming over Tim Means, Ryan LaFlare and Carlos Condit. Oliveira hasn’t had a bout go the distance in over two years, with his last fight to do so coming at UFC On Fox 20 in July of 2016. Oliveira has suffered just two defeats since moving up to welterweight in 2016, with those losses coming to Donald Cerrone and Yancy Medeiros.
UFC Fight Night Sao Paulo takes place on Saturday, September 22 from the Ibirapueroa Gymnasium in Sao Paulo, Brazil with no main event announced at this time. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox Sports 1.
