Last Thursday twenty-year-old Jonah Snyder died after going into cardiac arrest at Black and Brave Wrestling Academy, a school is owned by WWE Superstar Seth Rollins.
WKBW of Buffalo, New York reported the incident occurred during a training exercise. Snyder was instructed to sit down "when he started to feel ill." His conditioned worsen and 911 was called. While paramedics worked with him, he went into cardiac arrest and was pronounced dead at Genesis Medical Center seven miles from the gym. His autopsy proved inconclusive and the investigation continues.
WKBW reported that Snyder attended a high school in West Seneca, New York.
Rollins opened the school in 2014 with former tag team partner Marek Brave. The two began their own training together when they were eighteen-years-old. During an interview with WWE.com Rollins said the gym opened in Moline, Illinois because Rollins and Brave wanted to give back the wrestling community and saw the need for a school in the midwestern United States. Rollins also stated in that interview "Class meets three times a week as well as venturing to the independent shows that Marek wrestles at on weekends and stuff like that. When I’m home during the week, I’d like to stop by and build a rapport with the kids and the students." Rollins can be seen on Black and Brave's recent instagram post with the seventh class of his school.
The school has not made any informal or formal comments about the tragic event.
