Anthem Sports Releases A Statement Regarding IMPACT Wrestling Footage Being Featured On WWE Programming

Times are a-changing.

The relationship between WWE and IMPACT Wrestling is one that has been impaired over the years. WWE in particular has made no mention of IMPACT in any form until recently on an edition of Monday Night RAW when the current GM Kurt Angle told Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn that "TNA is hiring"

On a latest episode of the WWE Network show 'Table For 3', Shane McMahon sat down with two former multi-time TNA World Heavyweight Champions AJ Styles & Kurt Angle. During the show AJ and Kurt went over how they loved working with one another in TNA and how they have given one another some of the best matches of their respective careers. While going over the topic footage from one of Kurt Angle and AJ Styles' matches in TNA was shown.

At the end of the 'Table For 3' episode the sports-entertainment company promoted IMPACT's 'Global Wrestling Network'. Anthem Sports & Entertainment which is a corporation that owns a major stake in IMPACT issued the following statement to SportsKeeda about the collaboration with WWE:

“IMPACT Wrestling collaborated with WWE on the project and sub-licensed the footage to them for use in their original productions. Accordingly, WWE issued a courtesy for GWN when the footage airs.”

 

Speaking of AJ Styles "The Phenomenal One" recently retained his WWE Championship at 'Backlash', but his victory was not one that he was too pleased with in regards to how the match concluded.
