Blair Davenport described what getting drafted means to her.
On the second night of the 2024 WWE Draft, SmackDown selected Blair Davenport, bringing her time in NXT to an end.
In a Raw Exclusive, Blair Davenport was asked about getting drafted to SmackDown, with Jackie Redmond noting that it seemed like it was meant to be.
“It does. I feel like this job’s the only thing I’ve ever felt like I was meant to do. I never really fit in doing anything else. I had so many different things before I had this. Just to see that now I’m a part of SmackDown, I can’t even, I’m on a wave of emotions right now. This is honestly everything I’ve ever wanted. I’ve made my family proud, I know I’ve made all my friends back home, everything I’ve felt behind on the journey, and it’s just really, really nice to see that everything I’ve sacrificed in a way is finally paying off," Davenport said,
Davenport was then asked to describe her initial reaction, and she noted that she couldn't quite believe that her name had been announced. She made it clear that being included in the same group of NXT draftees like Ilja Dragunov and Carmelo Hayes meant a lot to her.
"I was almost just like, is that me? Are they saying my name? I think Ilja [Dragunov], Carmelo [Hayes], Lyra [Valkyria], Kiana [James], they’re all such top-tier talent, and for me to be included in this draft, it means so much to me that I’m on par with those guys, and how they’re viewed," Davenport said.
Lastly, Davenport was asked to comment on what SmackDown could expect from her. She stated that she had dominated NXT, but she would show SmackDown that she was the perfect weapon.
"I’ve already dominated NXT, but I’m very excited to show SmackDown that Blair Davenport is the perfect weapon," Davenport said.
