Claudio Castagnoli On Sheamus: Any Company That Has Him Has A Tremendous Asset

Claudio Castagnoli speaks highly of Sheamus.

Sheamus and Claudio Castagnoli previously feuded as they clashed in a best-of-seven series. They then teamed up together to form The Bar in 2016. During their time together, they won the WWE Raw Tag Team Championship four times and the SmackDown Tag Team Championship once. The duo broke up in 2019. Castagnoli left WWE and signed with AEW in 2022.

Speaking with WrestleTalk, Castagnoli was asked whether there was anyone from WWE that he wanted to see come to AEW, and the interviewer noted that they didn't want to name Sheamus because that was too obvious.

“[Mock groans, laughs] I’m just kidding. I love him. I love Sheamus. He’s awesome. Any company that has him has a tremendous asset. He’s just an absolute workhorse. One of the hardest workers in and outside the ring that I know. Absolute maniac in the best sense of the word. So I think it’s always, whatever is best for my friends, for them, and it’s also just fun to see what will happen. But yeah, love Sheamus," Castagnoli said.

Sheamus has not wrestled since the August 18 episode of WWE SmackDown. Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer subsequently reported in September that Sheamus was dealing with a "really bad" shoulder injury. Sheamus was later seen with wearing a neck brace in a a picture he posted on social media on September 23.

As previously reported by Fightful Select, Sheamus' contract is set to expire in 2024.

Fightful will have live coverage of AEW Dynamite as it airs on November 29.
