A new match has been set for AEW Full Gear.
On Friday, October 29, Eddie Kingston lost his World Title Eliminator Tournament match to Bryan Danielson. Later in the show, CM Punk was being interviewed backstage by Tony Schiavone, but they were interrupted by an enraged Kingston, who had to be pulled away after he and Punk began exchanging words.
This past Wednesday on Dynamite, Punk came to the ring and spoke about his respect for Jon Moxley entering an inpatient rehabilitation clinic, but then proceeded to admonish Eddie for not being at the show and, in turn, denying him the opportunity of being Moxley’s replacement in the tournament.
Punk and Kingston had a face-to-face on tonight’s Rampage and had a heated exchange. Kingston said Punk used to be a hero of his but he lost respect for him after Punk held him down earlier in his career. Punk said that it wasn't just him who judged Kingston but many others. He proceeded to call Eddie a bum. Kinston challenged him to a match at Full Gear, which Punk accepted, but before the left the ring, Eddie told Punk to retire for another seven years after he beats him up. Punk responded with a headbut and a pull-apart brawl ensued.
