Before Chris Jericho defends his AEW World Championship title at the upcoming Full Gear pay-per-view, he will have to defend his title in Philadelphia in the coming weeks.
AEW announced that a No. 1 contenders match for the AEW World Championship between Darby Allin and Jimmy Havoc will take place on the October 9 episode of AEW Dynamite. The winner of that match will take on Jericho for the AEW title on the October 16 episode of Dynamite in Philadelphia.
This Wednesday #AEWDynamite broadcasts LIVE from Boston’s @AgganisArena - 8/7c on TNT

Allin wrestled Cody Rhodes to a 20-minute time limit draw at Fyter Fest back in June and did pick up a win over CIMA on the October 2 episode of AEW Dynamite in a match that wasn't aired on TNT. Despite not having the best win-loss record in AEW, Havoc does own a win over Allin at the All Out show in August when he defeated Allin and Joey Janela.
Already announced for the October 9 episode of Dynamite is a tag team match featuring Hangman Page and Dustin Rhodes against Page and Sammy Guevara. Fightful will have live coverage of AEW Dynamite and have a post-show podcast.
