Davey Richards On Potential Bout Between The Wolves And FTR: I Know Four Guys Who Definitely Want It

Davey Richards discusses a potential match between The Wolves and FTR.

Richards and Eddie Edwards, collectively known as The Wolves, are one of the top tag teams of their generation. They won the tag team titles in ROH twice, and they held the gold five times in TNA. In 2017, Richards stepped away from wrestling, but he returned in 2021. Since then, he has been featured in MLW, and he has competed for several other promotions. Edward and Richards reunited earlier in 2021, and they continue to team up together on the independent scene. Meanwhile, FTR (Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood) is widely regarded as one of the best teams in the world. They currently hold the tag team titles in AAA, ROH, and NJPW, and they also wrestle for AEW.

Speaking with Bill Pritchard of WrestleZone, Richards discussed his reunion with Edwards and stated that when they're on, nobody can compare to them. He stated that he felt like they clicked during a recent match against Violence is Forever (Dominic Garrini & Kevin Ku).

"Since I’ve come back, they’ve put me and Eddie back together a few times. I’m gonna be arrogant. When me and Eddie are on, no one fN touch us, man. Our timing’s just always been there. I felt last Sunday, it was the fifth or sixth one, it just clicked again. I’m like ah, dude, we’re back. So we’re getting matching gear again, we’re doing all this because The Wolves are back. It’s cool. It was a great match. Credit to Violence Forever. They’re awesome," Richards said.

When asked about a potential match against FTR, Richards teased that it could be a possibility in 2023. He stated that, with wrestling these days, fans can often make things happen by expressing their wishes on social media. Richards also implied that all four men would be interested in the bout.

“2023, we could potentially all be in the same place to do that. The really cool thing about wrestling now is that the fans can be heard through social media. So if they want it and they voice their opinion on it, I know there’s four guys who definitely want it," Richards said.

Richards defended his MLW National Openweight Championship against Colby Corino at NWA Hard Times 3. Catch up on our coverage of the show here.
