Keith Lee Still Not Cleared For AEW Return

At ROH Supercard Of Honor in April, Mark Briscoe made history by defeating Eddie Kingston and winning the ROH World Championship for the first time in his entire career. Since then, Briscoe has made the most out of his reign, defending the belt against stars like Roderick Strong, Kyle Fletcher, The Beast Mortos, and Matt Taven.

While speaking to Fightful for a new interview, Mark Briscoe recalled winning the belt and how he felt like it was fate given that the show was close to his friends and family members.

"It was too much of a coincidence to be a coincidence. God had his hand in how I ended up winning the title on the anniversary of when my brother won the title, and it was in Philadelphia, which is right up the road for a lot of our friends and family to drive up to. If it happened to be in Chicago or Los Angeles or wherever, they wouldn’t have been able to be there. That was real cool. Being there from the first show in Ring of Honor and seeing the beginning of it all and what the title really means and the history of the title and actually being in the building for some of those matches and then come full circle, I get a shot at the title in Philly. There are no words. It’s just really cool."

Elsewhere in the interview, Briscoe talked about coming up with the word of the day segment. Learn more about that by clicking here.
