Naomi talks about her sisters in Team B.A.D. and getting the opportunity to team up with Sasha Banks again.
Naomi finally got the opportunity to earn gold at WrestleMania after not holding gold for nearly five years. Speaking to Sean Ross Sapp ahead of WrestleMania 38, Naomi explain how excited she was to learn that she’d be teaming with Sasha again.
“I was shook,” she explained when describing her reaction to the news that she would be teaming with Sasha. "I was excited and I was like, ‘Whoa.’ I definitely wasn’t sure if we would ever be matched up again. Sasha is so successful and such a star. She can easily be doing her own thing. Just to be teamed back up with her again is definitely an honor. I think she’s one of the best of all time and definitely one of the best partners to have. So I look forward to the magic we’re gonna be able to make together. I’ve been in a lot of tag teams, but there is no one like Sasha Banks.”
The other member of Team B.A.D., Tamina Snuka is planning on getting married, in storyline, to Akira Tozawa. Naomi says she is very happy for Tamina and was always planning on showing up to her wedding to support her.
“Yeah. That’s mama bear,” Naomi said. “Super happy for Tamina and we definitely wanted to be there to support her ‘cause that’s our girl. B.A.D. for life. But yeah, it’s funny to see where we all are now.”
Naomi was also hoping to have some cultural influence when it comes to a musical guest for the wedding, hopefully paying homage to Tamina Snuka’s Polynesian heritage.
“We gotta get some culture up in there. The Polynesian Goddess, that goes way back to even before Team BAD, if you know her FCW history. She was the Polynesian Goddess.”
In the locker room, Tamina Snuka is known as “Mama Bear.” Naomi explained how important she is to the locker room and why the locker room loves her.
“I think it’s so important to have that type of energy and positivity in the locker room, it definitely keeps the morale up. She definitely brings us all together. That’s why we love her so much,” she said.
Sasha and Naomi became Tag Team Champions at WrestleMania 38. Tamina Snuka is still waiting to get married. We will have live coverage when she does as we cover all Monday Night Raw programming every Monday beginning at 8 p.m. eastern time.
