Former Universal Champion Returns To RAW

The Demon King is back.

After being off TV for nearly nine months, Finn Balor made his return to RAW on Monday night to wrestle in the main event.

The scheduled main event for RAW was set to see Samoa Joe and Kevin Owens take on the team of Seth Rollins and Chris Jericho. However, after a backstage attack on Jericho by Owens and Joe that ended with Y2J being put through a table, Rollins was left without a partner.

New RAW general manager Kurt Angle told Rollins that though Jericho wasn't able to compete, the tag team match would still take place and he would find a partner for The Architect. That partner was first ever WWE Universal Champion.

Balor was met with a pretty warm welcome when the time came to step back into the ring for the first time.

Balor had been wrestling at various live events since making his in-ring return at a live event on March 10 in Buffalo.

Balor ultimately won the match for his team after hitting Owens with a coup de grace. The show ended with Rollins -- who injured Balor at Summerslam with a powerbomb into the barricade -- raising Balor's hand into the air.
