Hiroshi Tanahashi isn't going anywhere as he announced he has re-signed with New Japan Pro Wrestling.
The former IWGP Heavyweight Champion made the announcement on social media. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Tanahashi announced in December 2018 that he had re-signed with the promotion. Tuesday's announcement would indicate that Tanahashi signed a one-year deal with the company last year, but that hasn't been confirmed.

The google translation of Tanahashi's post states, "The player contract with New Japan Pro Wrestling has been updated. I will do my best next year. Thank you!"
In other NJPW contract news, Yuji Nagata also announced he has renewed his deal with NJPW.

The google translation of Nagata's post says, "Christmas Eve this year is really cold. It may be the coldest in the past few years (laugh) Such a contract was renewed today. Thank you for New Japan Pro-Wrestling Hiroshi Nagata in 2020"
Both men are scheduled to compete at Wrestle Kingdom 14. Nagata will compete on night one (Jan. 4) while Tanahashi faces Chris Jericho on night two.
