Jake Roberts talks Ric Flair coming to AEW.
Ric Flair is the latest wrestling legend to join AEW. Flair recently signed a multi-year deal with AEW. On camera, his role is to stand by Sting as "The Icon" prepares for his final match at AEW Revolution 2024.
Jake Roberts was one of the first legends to sign on with AEW, in the promotion's early days on television. Speaking about "The Nature Boy" inking a deal with All Elite Wrestling, Roberts says it would have been crazier if it didn't happen, seeing as how it fits with the current storylines.
"We knew it'd happened sooner or later. Christ, it's crazy not to, and it fits in with the storyline for Sting and all that. So, I'm happy for him, man," Roberts said on his most recent Snake Pit podcast.
Jake also spoke about the likelihood of Ric Flair getting physical in AEW. To put it bluntly, Roberts doesn't think that there's any chance it will happen.
"Oh god, no. No way," he said.
While Roberts doesn't foresee any physicality happening for Flair, he couldn't help but joke that it "would be perfect" when asked if he could give one of his final DDTs to Flair on AEW TV.
He teased, "That'd be perfect, wouldn't it?"
Jake Roberts recently returned to AEW television on the November 4 episode of AEW Collision. On that episode, he revealed that he is not only working with Lance Archer but he is now working with Vincent and Dutch of The Righteous.
That trio is now scheduled to face the team of Darby Allin, Adam Copeland, and Sting on the November 10 Collision. Learn more here.
