On the September 9th episode of WWE Raw, Jey Uso faced Ilja Dragunov, Pete Dunne, and Braun Strowman in the finals of the WWE Intercontinental Championship Number One Contender's Tournament. All four competitors were on the verge of victory at different points in the match as they threw everything they had at each other.

A key point in the match came when Bronson Reed ran in and attacked Strowman by hitting a Tsunami through the broadcast table. In doing so, he effectively took Strowman out of the match. Dragunov was seconds away from victory after he hit Dunne with an H-bomb. Uso broke up the pin with a superkick and hit an Uso Splash on Dunne for the win.

As Uso celebrated, WWE Intercontinental Champion Bron Breakker came out and confronted him. Breakker stared Uso down as Raw went off the air.

As of this writing, there is no word on when Jey Uso will challenge for the WWE Intercontinental Championship.
