Joey Janela Withdraws From GCW Events In June With Injury

Joey Janela is sidelined.

Janela took to social media to announce that he will be unable to compete at GCW on Sunday due to injury. He didn't provide further details, saying that he doesn't know the severity yet, but noted that he wasn't cleared. He also said he believes he would have to miss his GCW match in Wyoming, which is scheduled for June 19.

Janela was tapped to face Ninja Mack on Sunday.

He did say he plans on being at GCW this weekend to provide commentary and hopes to be on commentary in Wyoming as well. He ended by saying he is "85% sure" he will be cleared to compete for GCW Texas in July.

Janela last wrestled on the May 28 episode of AEW Dynamite, losing to Hangman Page. He has been regularly wrestling on AEW Dark and Dark: Elevation, where he is involved in a storyline with his tag team partner Sonny Kiss.
