Kenny Omega and Jon Moxley are set to make history on Sunday at AEW Revolution when they compete in the first-ever exploding barbed wire deathmatch in AEW history.
The exploding barbed wire deathmatch was made famous in Japan by Atsushi Onita, but has rarely been seen in America, especially from a company with a national television deal.
Ahead of the bout, Kenny Omega explained the rules, complete with a fan-friendly drawing, for fans.
-3 sides of the ring ropes wrapped in barbed wire.
-contact with barbed wire triggers explosives on corresponding side.
-‘Triple Hell’ (3 zones on the floor wired to explosives)
-30 minute countdown timer until all explosives in and around the ring detonate.
