Kurt Angle Said He's Aiming For An Early 2018 Return To Wrestle In WWE

Kurt Angle is still holding out hope that he will have a match in WWE and has a timetable for his return.

Angle spoke with "Inside The Ropes" and said he never thought he would be back in a WWE ring as a wrestler by 2017, but that he's aiming for an early 2018 return.

"Getting in the ring, no [I didn't think I would be back by SummerSlam]. There were some rumors that [WWE] was going around (getting me cleared) and that I was going to be in the ring. I know Vince McMahon and he's going to tell me ahead of time just to get prepped and he never did so I knew I wasn't going to be a part of it. I'm looking at probably early next year. It's all up to between Vince and me," Angle said.

Angle signed back with WWE last year, but has only since served as the general manager for Monday Night Raw. Before signing back with WWE, Angle wrestled on the independent scene after a lengthy run wrestling for TNA. The former World Heavyweight Champion has not wrestled for the company since 2006 before being released.
