Kurt Angle Shares His Thoughts On His Daughter Possibly Following In His Footsteps As A Pro Wrestler

Kurt Angle loved his time as a professional wrestler but says he would have to think hard about whether he wanted his daughter to follow in his footsteps.

Kurt Angle won a gold medal in the 1996 Olympics. Within three years, he was a WWE Superstar on his way to a Hall of Fame career. His daughter is currently an amateur wrestler, and she even wore her father's medals, sitting next to him ringside at the 2025 WWE Royal Rumble event.

Speaking to Fightful's Iridian Fierro for WGN Radio, Kurt Angle expressed all of the reasons he would be hesitant to endorse his daughter's hypothetical decision to follow in his footsteps and enter the world of professional wrestling.

"I would have to think about it. I love my WWE career, don't get me wrong, but it's really it's a lot of work, and if you're going to have family, it's probably not the best thing for you because you're going to be on the road 300 days a year, you're going to have to devote your life to your business, to the business. Not only that, but when you really think about it, you're with your peers longer than you are with your family. Because if you're if you're going on the road 300 days a year, you're only home for 64 days a year. So you're with your peers more than you are your family, and they become your family. So it was kind of an odd situation for me, but when I started going part-time, I started spending more time with my family, and then eventually I retired, and now I spend all my time with them, and then I absolutely love it. I really wish I would have maybe exited wrestling a little bit quicker because some of my kids are in their 20s and late teens, and I didn't really get to spend a lot of time with them."

Kurt Angle was recently quoted as saying he would love to have faced Roman Reigns in his prime. Read more here.

Kurt Angle retired in 2019 after losing to Baron Corbin at WWE WrestleMania 35. He has said in the past that he would be open to returning to the ring for a big payday or cinematic scenarios.
