Marty Scurll has appeared in a NJPW ring for the first time months.
Scurll crashed the party at a NJPW New Beginning USA show in Durham, North Carolina where he promptly issued a challenge to Jay White. That challenge would be at the ROH Supercard of Honor show taking place on April 4 in Lakeland, Florida. Both men had been previously announced for the show, however, neither man had a match announcement made.

Scurll has not wrestled for NJPW since June 2019 when he and Brody King teamed up for a couple of matches at the tail end of the Best of the Super Juniors tour. Scurll once held the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight and NEVER Openweight Six-Man Tag Team Championships while wrestling for NJPW.
Since then, Scurll wrestled mostly for ROH and reportedly signed a new deal with the company. Scurll also recently started a feud with NWA World Heavyweight Champion Nick Aldis.
