Matt Hardy explains why the current WWE Tag Team Title designs are his least-favorite belt designs ever.

Matt Hardy has held a wide variety of championship belts through the years and each of those championship belts has had a unique design. Now, during the recent Q&A podcast on The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy, Matt Hardy is breaking down his favorite and least favorite Championship designs.

His favorite is the version of the WWE Tag Team Championship that he first one with Jeff Hardy in 1999. Matt Hardy explained that because of the lineage that particular design held, it was always the most special in his mind.

"I would say my favorite belt design is the first-ever WWE Tag Team titles that we won and the ones that were circulating in the late 90s, and early 2000s I love those. I didn't like whenever they switched to the blue and red belts of the SmackDown tag belts. You know, I love those classic Tag Team Titles because those are the ones, when we were huge fans, we really loved wrestling and we dreamed about having those and then we ultimately won them, which was so super cool."

Further explaining why he doesn't like the current tag team titles, Matt Hardy says that he feels like it hurt the prestige and it was ultimately a step backward.

"The blue and red World Tag Team Championship, I thought that was a step back from the other titles, you know, especially the ones that preceded them, the tag titles before them look really, really nice. I think it was a step backward," Matt Hardy said.

Elsewhere on this podcast, Matt Hardy spoke about never getting the chance to be WWE Intercontinental Champion. Read more about that at this link.

Matt Hardy was, of course, looking forward to possibly winning the All Elite Wrestling Tag Team Championship with his brother, Jeff, but unfortunately, that journey had to take a detour as Jeff Hardy's health and well-being come first.
