Matt Hardy comments on Darby Allin possibly becoming AEW World Champion.
At AEW Dynamite Grand Slam, Darby Allin faced off with Jon Moxley with a shot at the AEW World Title on the line. Moxley would defeat Allin and subsequently became AEW World Champion at AEW WrestleDream. Allin would then briefly be taken off AEW TV, before returning to assist Orange Cassidy in his fight against The Deathriders.
While speaking on The Extreme Life Of Matt Hardy, Matt was asked in a fan question if Darby should have captured the AEW World Title at AEW Dynamite Grand Slam.
“I don’t know, I think Jon Moxley is probably the most secure choice, especially for the one to end Bryan Danielson’s career and to carry the title right now. As far as that invasion story, I don’t know, it’s tricky. It becomes tricky and sometimes it can be confusing in some ways. If these guys are outsiders, why do they keep allowing them in? I don’t know, it all depends on their execution and how they follow through with this and it’s gonna depend if they have some sort of creative way to navigate this story to get into some sort of scenario where you can get a finish that’s going to be a good payoff for everyone watching."
Allin recently commented on his recovery process for the violent bumps he takes in the ring. You can read more about that here.
