Matt Riddle Has A Plan To Win The NXT And NXT U.K. Titles To Merge Both Brands

"The Original Bro" wants to merge brands.

Matt Riddle picked up yet another victory at an NXT TakeOver event yesterday at TakeOver XXV in Connecticut. In the opening match of the show, Riddle defeated Undisputed ERA member and former NXT Tag Team Champion Roderick Strong. Riddle and Strong have met before they arrived in NXT and Riddle shared his experience meeting Strong when he spoke with the New York Post. Riddle claimed that Roddy was a "snob" and said he looked down at him because Riddle was not primarily focused on professional wrestling at the time.

"It depends. With certain people, I do like to work multiple times. Somebody like Roderick, I could care less. I met him once before he got into WWE. I would say he was a snob per se in the wrestling world. He kind of looked down upon me. He didn’t think I was going to last probably. I was just in and out, and now that I’m here and it’s going to be me and him, I don’t think I need too many reps with him. I think once we get in, I’m gonna lay it in and he’s gonna lay it in right back, but fireworks are gonna fly." Riddle said.

Riddle's next goal is to take the NXT North American Championship from Velveteen Dream. Riddle also has a goal that'll change the very landscape of WWE which has to do with winning both the NXT and NXT U.K. Championships and merging both brands.

"I would like to win a title or two here. I want to beat Dream. I don’t want him just to beat me where I don’t get to do it [again] unless I say, 'I want to beat Velveteen Dream.' Oh, and I want WALTER. Before I leave the NXT brand, what I ideally want is, I want to win the NXT Title and I want to win the NXT UK Title from WALTER and unify the titles and have one NXT."
