Mercedes Mone Tells Athena To Show Up To 'Thee' Show, Athena Says She Knows Why She's 'Stuck' In ROH

Mercedes Mone and Athena go back and forth.

Mercedes Mone reigns supreme in AEW as the TBS Champion, while Athena has been on a remarkable run as the ROH Women's World Champion since ROH Final Battle 2022. Fans have buzzed about a potential match between Mone and Athena since Mercedes joined AEW in 2024. In recent weeks, Mone has crossed paths with Athena's minion Billie Starkkz, fueling the buzz about the potential match.

Mercedes Mone took to Twitter/X to tell Billie Starkz to tell Momo Watanabe to give her the TBS Championship back. Athena responded by saying that Mone knew where to find her, and everyone knew that "The CEO" wasn't ready for the beating she would get. She told Mone not to bother her with her CEO nonsense.

Mercedes Mone fired back by saying that she was not there for the pleasantries. She stated that everyone knew where to find her, as Athena had been holding it down in ROH for years. Mone suggested that Athena should show up to "thee" show and prove she was more than just talk. She went on to tease that she could slap some respect into Starkz and Athena. Mone also said that she would see Athena when she was ready to step up.

Athena answered by saying that Mone knew exactly why she was "stuck" in ROH. She said that if Mone really wanted the opportunity to lose any of her titles, she would have already asked for the match. Athena also said that Mone instead chose to count her minions and "hit that uncoordinated hip swivel wrapped in trash sequins and marketing." She stated that she would be carrying an entire company on her back and proving that she was the best champion in all of wrestling.

Finally, Mercedes answered by saying goodbye, telling Athena it was time for her to step on her minions, and sharing a GIF of Tony Khan.
