The loss of Shad Gaspard has hit the wrestling world hard.
Known as one of the great guys in wrestling, he extended beyond that as well. He was an actor, a bodyguard, and creating comics. The latter of which, he helped work on with another WWE alumni in Muhammad Hassan. The two wrote Assasin & Son, and grew close over that time. On social media, the now private Hassan shared a tribute to his friend.
Gutted doesn’t begin to describe how this feels. For nearly 20 years Shad has been there for me when I needed him. He was thoughtful, driven, intelligent, brave, and loyal to a fault... I’m heartbroken for his wife and son. I hope they find some comfort in the love and support of the hundreds of people who counted Shad as family. Like so many other people, I loved him with my whole heart. He was as good of a friend as anyone could ask for and I’ll miss him always. He sent me this picture when our book finally made it to print. It’s one of my favorites. RIP Beast
