There seems to be a change at the top of WWE Studios.
Since 2010, Michael Luisi has been President of WWE Studios and had his hands in the process of movies like the Marine series, Santa's Little Helper, and Leprechaun: Origins. The Wrap has reported Luisi has been "fired" from the position and his former team will be reporting to WWE Co-President Michelle Wilson and Tim Schmidt will be temporarily leading the studio.
Deadline.com reported Luisi was fired after a confrontation with Wilson.
WWE Studios have a few movies coming out or currently in production including The Marine 6, the Paige biopic Fighting with My Family, and the Vince McMahon biopic Pandemonium. The reports state that WWE will be looking to replace Luisi.
WWE has experienced a positive 2018 considering stock price, revenue, and growth but that has been mostly the result of live events and the television rights of Raw and Smackdown. WWE Studios was not mentioned much in the last quarterly investor conference call in July.
Fightful Wrestling will report when Luisi's replacement is announced.
