Good evening Fight Fans, and welcome to our coverage for tonight's edition of WWE Smackdown on FOX!
- We open tonight's show with the entrance of Edge before he comes out to the ring and talks about his match against Seth Rollins tomorrow night at Summerslam before declaring that he's going to burn Seth down.
- Backstage Rey and Dom talk backstage ahead of Rey's match against Jey up next ahead of their challenging for the Smackdown Tag Team titles tomorrow at Summerslam.
Rey Mysterio (w/ Dominik Mysterio) vs Jey Uso (w/ Jimmy Uso)
Jey is in control to start the match before Rey hits a head scissors and mounted punches in the corner before Jey rocks Rey with an uppercut before locking in a rear chin lock and Rey gets to his feet before hitting a head scissors that sends Jey over the top rope and down onto the floor and follows up with a tope as we go to commercial.
We come back from the break to Jey in control of Rey before Rey comes back with an enzuigiri and Jey hits a Samoan drop for two before Rey counters an avalanche Samoan drop into a frankensteiner for a deep two count before hitting a springboard cross body for another two count before Jey drives Rey into the turnbuckle and hits a neckbreaker for a near fall. Rey then hits a diving seated senton before hitting a tornado DDT for a near fall before Jey counters a 619 and Dom tries to help Rey cheat to win before the referee ejects him and Jimmy attacks him before Jey hits a diving splash for the pin and the win.
Winner: Jey Uso defeats Rey Mysterio via pinfall.
- Baron Corbin comes out to the ring with the Money in the Bank briefcase ahead of his match against Kevin Owens up next as we go to commercial.
Kevin Owens vs Baron Corbin
Kevin goes right after Baron and punches and chops him in the corner before Baron hits him with a thrust to the throat before clotheslining Kevin and beating on him in mount before smashing Kevin's face into the top turnbuckle and beating him down in the corner before Kevin sends him out of the ropes and superkicks him off of the apron. Kevin hits a flipping senton off of the apron before tossing Baron back inside and going up top before Baron rolls out of the ring and snaps Kevin's neck across the top rope before Kevin counters a chokeslam and Baron a stunner before Baron slides out of the ring and Big E comes out for his briefcase. Big E then attacks Baron for the disqualification when they both go after the briefcase.
Winner: Baron Corbin defeats Kevin Owens via disqualification.
- After the match E beats Baron down before Baron sends him into the post and flees through the crowd with the briefcase.
- We get a backstage interview with Bianca Belair ahead of her title defense tomorrow night and her two matches tonight against Carmella and Zelina Vega, respectively.
Championship Contender Match
Shotzi & Nox vs Natalya & Tamina
Tamina and Shotzi start the match off before the tag champs double up on Shotzi and Shotzi pins Natty out of nowhere when she counters a sharpshooter into a roll up for the win.
Winner: Shotzi Blackheart and Nox defeat Tamina and Natalya via pinfall to earn a shot at the WWE Women's Tag Team titles.
- Seth Rollins comes out to the ring to address what Edge said earlier ahead of their match tomorrow night at Summerslam where he says that there is no shame in Edge embracing the darkness which he cannot get on Seth's level without before The Brood's music hits and the ring turns red as Edge shows up on the big screen and tells Seth that he'll never see it coming before Seth is covered in black goo.
Montez Ford (w/ Angelo Dawkins) vs Otis (w/ Chad Gable)
Montez tries to use his speed to avoid Otis before Otis cuts him off and drops him with a spinning back fist before dumping him out of the ring and lays into Montez with punches to the midsection before Montez counters a suplex and rocks Otis with an enzuigiri before Angelo takes out Chad and distracts Otis as Montez hits Otis with a diving cross body for a near fall. Montez then rocks Otis with strikes before Otis knocks him out of the air and hits a Vader bomb for the pin and the win.
Winner: Otis defeats Montez Ford via pinfall.
Shinsuke Nakamura & Rick Boogs vs Apollo Crews & Commander Azeez
Rick and Apollo start the match off with Rick showing off his superior grappling skills all the while using Apollo like a guitar before Apollo sends him into the post and dropkicks him for two before Rick suplexes Apollo and Shinsuke and Azeez come in and Shinsuke dodges a boot before rocking Azeez with a leg lariat. Azeez then runs into the corner before Shinsuke hits a diving knee off of the top for two before calling for the Kinshasa and Azeez counters into a side slam before tagging in Apollo who gets dropped with a spin kick and Rick comes back in and Shinsuke takes out Azeez before Rick slams Apollo for the pin and the win.
Winner: Shinsuke Nakamura and Rick Boogs defeat Apollo Crews and Commander Azeez via pinfall.
Bianca Belair vs Zelina Vega (w/ Carmella)
Carmella tosses Zelina into the ring and Bianca tosses her around the ring before running her over and stomping her down in the corner before playing to the crowd and Zelina counters a scoop slam and drives Bianca into the corner before missing a running meteora in the corner and Carmella distracts Bianca before Zelina hits a code red for a near fall. Zelina beats on Bianca on the mount before Bianca catches her coming off of the top and hits a powerbomb into a snake eyes and the KOD for the pin and the win.
Winner: Bianca Belair defeats Zelina Vega via pinfall.
- After the match Carmella immediately superkicks Bianca as she's celebrating as we go to commercial.
Bianca Belair vs Carmella (w/ Zelina Vega)
We come back from the break to the match already in progress with Carmella in control of Bianca until Bianca comes back with a delayed suplex and strikes before catching a kick and dropping Carmella with a stiff forearm before hitting a hand spring back flip for two before Carmella boots her and locks in an Upside Down before trapping Bianca in the apron skirt. Carmella then beats on Bianca and superkicks her before rolling her back inside for two before Bianca pins Carmella with the KOD for the pin and the win.
Winner: Bianca Belair defeats Carmella via pinfall.
- Roman Reigns, Paul Heyman, and John Cena come out to the ring and meet face to face ahead of their Universal title match tomorrow night at Summerslam before the two exchange words and John says that he's going to take the Universal title, leave and film a movie and leave Roman an embarrassed former shell of himself and that he's there to demote Roman. John then declares that he will break the championship record tomorrow night thanks to Roman before Roman offers to raise the stakes and says that he's either leaving as Universal champion or leaving WWE before they shake and Roman goes for a Samoan drop before John rolls him up for three and escapes as we go off the air.
