Ruby Soho says there's a chance fans can see her (or Sally Stitches) reemerge in Freelance Wrestling one day.
Freelance Wrestling is an independent wrestling promotion in the Chicago area that prides itself on mixing the spirit of punk rock with professional wrestling. Perhaps no professional wrestler in history has embodied the mixture of punk rock and pro wrestling quite like Ruby Soho.
Currently named after a Rancid song, which is also her entrance song, Ruby was recently asked during an interview with Tribe 3 Productions if she would ever return to freelance wrestling and that she is no longer with WWE and AEW is a little more relaxed in regards to its talent competing on independent shows.
Ruby Soho stated that because she had so much fun when she worked for Freelance, she could show up again one day, perhaps even as an old alter ego of hers, Sally Stitches.
"I had such a blast at Freelance. When I did freelance, I had so much fun. Coming up with a different persona at the time to be able to work there was rad. I still have the mask, so there's a chance," she said in the interview recorded at Squared Circle Expo III. "They're great guys who run it, and I'm very partial to that place because I had just such -- the fans were great. They were awesome. They were like us, their punk rock bands, and they have fun at everything. So there's a chance."
Sally Stitches appeared seven times in Freelance Wrestling between 2015 and 2016. Sally only lost one time, in a freelance championship match against Isaiah Velasquez.
On AEW TV, Ruby Soho is currently embracing the heel side of her persona as part of a stable with Saraya and Toni Storm, The Outcasts.
In regards to her punk rock roots, Soho reflected on being played to the ring by Rancid at AEW Double or Nothing 2022 during a recent interview with Fightful's Grapsody podcast. Fans can check out the full interview here.
