Samoa Joe says he's simply just "an advisory committee" to Stokely Hathaway's authority in Ring of Honor.
Stokely Hathaway is one of the three members of the Ring of Honor board of directors along with Jerry Lynn and Tony Khan.
During the June 29, 2023 episode of ROH on HonorClub, Stokely was given control by Tony Khan to run things behind the scenes and just a few short moments later, Samoa Joe made it clear that he runs Hathaway instead.
In a new interview with Bill Pritchard of WrestleZone, Samoa Joe talked about his fun relationship with the ROH board member, equating himself to that of an advisory committee, if there were an advisory committee to decide when someone eats, sleeps, and breathes.
“Stokely, he’s very much in control. He’s doing his best. I just serve as an advisory committee to most of his moves and actions and things that he does. When he decides to breathe, eat, go anywhere. So that’s really kind of the basis of our relationship. I’m glad that he trusts me enough to advise him to do the right things, and so far, he has not disappointed. If he does, I just really hope he’s ready for the consequences that could come down from terrible decisions," said Joe.
Continuing on, Joe addressed some of the crazy things that Stokely says such as claiming Joe is "extorting" him. Joe blew this off by saying that Stokely is simply a silly guy and they have a big brother-little brother relationship.
“He’s so crazy sometimes. He is wild. It’s our little language. He’s like, ‘Stop extorting me,’ but it’s just like a big brother-little brother. Little brother, you gotta do a little more work than big brother, but that’s just the nature of things. He always has little funny cute pet names for things that I do, and extortion is one of them. What can I say? He’s a screwball."
Elsewhere in the interview, Joe talked about his rivalry with CM Punk. Fans can learn more here.
