Tony Khan Says He Owes Chavo Guerrero A Call, Was Surprised To See His Comments On Social Media

Tony Khan plans on calling Chavo Guerrero.

When Andrade El Idolo entered AEW, he was accompanied by Chavo Guerrero. The two would part ways not too long after when Andrade expressed his resentment towards Chavo getting involved in his matches. Guerrero has not been seen on AEW television since then.

On March 1, Chavo was removed from the AEW roster page and took to Twitter saying, "That’s news to me! I guess having @TonyKhan telling me to go film Young Rock Season 2, & my job will be waiting for me when I’m done, didn’t mean much."

He elaborated during an interview with Nick Hausman on Wrestling Inc Daily, saying that he started reaching out to Tony Khan in early February but never received a reply. He then called and got no answer or response, something which made him upset (transcription via Wrestling Inc).

“Coming back in early February, started giving Tony some texts, no answer, no reply. Called him, left him a voice message, no reply whatsoever. I am like, ‘hmm, okay.’ Then all of a sudden I see I am not part of the page anymore, of the AEW roster. So, it kind of pisses me off, to be honest.

Hey, I am a big boy, if there’s not plans for me, totally fine, I get it. But answer your phone. I deal with billionaires all the time, he’s not the first one, so it kind of pisses me off a little bit. After working with Vince McMahon, you can deal with anybody. So I am like, ‘answer your phone.’ This is not cool. So that’s where we are at," he said.

Asked about the situation during the post-Revolution media scrum, Khan said he was surprised by Chavo's comments but does plan on calling him.

"I am going to call Chavo. I was a little surprised, I only missed one message from him and then he went to the media after I missed one message. I don't want to say what Chavo got paid for being the stunt coordinator on Young Rock, but he got paid a huge amount of money and he asked if he could take time off and leave. He was not under contract, he was on a weekly deal. I said, 'I would love to have you back. I like you a lot.' He did a great thing, but now we're going to have to make our plans going forward without him and we made plans without him and we've done great stuff. I like him, he did great stuff for us. I definitely owe him a phone call, but I was a little surprised to hear that. I like him a lot. Chavo could walk in right now and I'm very pleasent with him. When I saw that...it's kind of a busy week because we have a show every day. Maybe he didn't know I had such a busy week. He did reach out this week, I just haven't gotten back to him yet. I will talk to Chavo," he said.

Elsewhere during the scrum, the AEW President spoke about his purchase of ROH and what he plans on doing with the brand. Click here to learn more.
