Trevor Murdoch talks about Triple H taking over the creative helm of WWE.
Trevor Murdoch is currently in the middle of his most prominent run as a singles star as a two-time champion in the National Wrestling Alliance but he is also a professional wrestler that has a history in WWE. Murdoch was a multi-time Tag Team Champion with Lance Cade and in 2006, Cade & Murdoch were given the opportunity to compete against Shawn Michaels and Triple H, D-Generation X, as Michaels and Hunter were preparing to enter a rivalry with Edge and Randy Orton, Rated RKO, after feuding with Vince McMahon and his son, Shane, for the majority of the summer of 2006.
Today, Shawn Michaels and Triple H are in charge of the creative direction of all three WWE brands, with Hunter taking over the main roster following the retirement of Vince McMahon and Shawn Michaels having control of the NXT developmental brand.
Speaking to Sean Ross Sapp, Trevor Murdoch spoke about Triple H taking over the helm of WWE creative and even recalled Triple H talking to him about wrestling and ideas for wrestling back in the day.
"Oh, completely. I had a chance to work with DX and Hunter, behind the scenes, was constantly talking to us about wrestling and wrestling ideas," Murdoch called. "When I heard that Hunter was taking over, I was stoked. You’re gonna see a whole brand new product, in my opinion, a product we all love and enjoy again in about three months. You’re gonna take some time to build different angles and stuff like that, but one thing about Hunter is he’s not afraid to listen to the people and he’s smart enough not to give it all away."
Furthermore, Trevor Murdoch credited Triple H with having the ability to not hot-shot everything and properly build whatever he has in mind for the creative direction of WWE moving forward.
"Right now there are some other companies out there, and I’m not gonna name any names, that are just throwing every single thing they have as soon as they get their hand on it," Trevor continued. "They just wanna get it out and give it to the people. There’s something to be said about a nice, slow build on things. That’s what you’re gonna see out of Hunter in WWE. We’re gonna have this conversation in about three or four months, Sean, and we’re gonna be talking about what’s going on in WWE because they’re gonna have pro wrestling on their TV."
While Trevor is excited to see what happens moving forward with Triple H in control of WWE, his next big-time match will be against Tyrus at NWA 74 as he defends his World Heavyweight Championship.
