Turbo Floyd: The Outrunners Tried Out For The Miami Dolphins. We Got Into Wrestling Instead, And Dan Marino Took The Job

The Outrunners say they could have won the Super Bowl.

The Outrunners (Turbo Floyd and Truth Magnum) have had a breakout run in AEW in recent weeks. However, their careers could have been quite different.

During a virtual signing with Captain's Corner, football came up in the conversation, and The Outrunners noted that John Elway was a fan. However, when asked about Dan Marino, Turbo Floyd said that he was not a fan of the duo. He claimed that they tried out for the Miami Dolphins, but they opted to pursue wrestling instead, so Marino eventually got the job.

Turbo Floyd: The Outrunners had a tryout for the Miami Dolphins together as quarterback. First co-quarterback position of all time, but we decided we wanted to go ahead and do this wrestling thing, and this guy named Dan Marino went ahead and stepped in and took the job. Never won a Super Bowl. Outrunners would have won two.

Truth Magnum: In one year.

TF: Same time.

TM: Their loss.

Magnum also noted that the Dolphins’ historic quarterback woes could have been solved with one co-quarterback.

Marino had a legendary career with the Miami Dolphins. He won the NFL MVP award in 1984. He also won the Offensive Player of the Year award that year, and he was a three-time First-Team All-Pro. However, as Floyd noted, he never won the Super Bowl.

Magnum previously said that he called out The Undertaker for killing the town in WCCW.
