Tyson Fury: Vince McMahon Said He's Never Seen Anyone Pick Up Wrestling Like Me

Tyson Fury on what Vince McMahon said to him after Crown Jewel.

Heavyweight boxing champion Tyson Fury made his WWE debut at Crown Jewel, defeating Braun Strowman by count out. Despite his boxing background and short training period at the WWE Performance Center, Fury's performance against Strowman was rough around the edges. However, Vince McMahon was pleased with the result.

Gabe Kidd: I Have No Problem Telling Tony Khan What A F*cking Idiot He Is

“I have been a fan of WWE all my life. I’ve been a big fan of all the big wrestlers. I am athletic enough to be able to learn quickly," Fury told talkSPORT. “[Chairman of the WWE] Vince McMahon said he has recruited sports stars from all different sports and he has never seen anyone come into their game, have a couple of training sessions, and pick it up like that. I looked like a natural in there! It didn’t go down to well with my management, promoters, trainers, family. Everyone was saying ‘oh the Wilder fight, you are going to get injured’, but the Wilder fight may as well be a million moons away."

As far as his future in WWE, Fury once again teased an appearance at WrestleMania.

“We have left the door open. WrestleMania is coming up in April so who knows – never say never.”

Fury has been open about his desire to face Brock Lesnar in the future.

Fury and Strowman did squash their beef on the Nov. 8 WWE SmackDown, aligning to take out The B-Team. It is unknown when he will return to WWE as he's scheduled to face Deontay Wilder in February 2020.
