WWE shares photos from "The Blackheart's" recent surgery.
It was first reported by Dave Meltzer on a recent edition of Wrestling Observer Radio and has since been confirmed by WWE that the current NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa has underwent successful neck surgery. The type of neck surgery that Ciampa underwent was described as followed:
NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa underwent anterior cervical fusion surgery to repair his injured neck.
WWE has uploaded photos to their website of Tommaso Ciampa in the waiting room and doctors performing the operation on him along with pictures of the metal screws that had to be inserted into the area were the incision was made.

Tommaso Ciampa will not be able to compete at NXT TakeOver: New York on April 5th where he and Johnny Gargano were headed for a show-down for the NXT Championship. The next NXT TV tapings are scheduled for March 13th and those are the final tapings heading into TakeOver: New York which currently has an NXT Tag Team Championship match and Pete Dunne versus WALTER for the WWE United Kingdom Championship slated.
