Xelhua Challenges Guerrero Maya Jr For CMLL National Middleweight Title At CMLL Sábado De Coliseo

A title match is set for next week.

On the 10/5 edition of CMLL Sábado De Coliseo, Xelhua teamed up with La Fuerza Poblana (Stigma & Guerrero Maya Jr.) against the team of Rey Bucanero & Los Felinos (Felino & Felino Jr.) in a trios match; however, tensions arose between Xelhua & Guerrero Maya Jr., causing their team to lose their match in two straight falls, leading to a big development for next week.

After the match, Xelhua said he was tired of Maya Jr.'s antics over the past weeks and wanted to end this once and for all by challenging him to a match for the CMLL National Middleweight Title, which Maya Jr. accepted for next week's show.

This will be Maya Jr.'s fifth title defense, in his 492 title reign; on the other hand, this will be Xelhua's first title challenge in his year-old professional wrestling career, although he did win the 2024 CMLL Barroco Championship against Vegas on the 7/15/2024 edition of CMLL Lunes Clasico celebrating Arena Puebla's 71st Anniversary (full results for that show here).

Fightful will have more updates on the match card for that show. For more results from CMLL & across the wrestling world, check out Fightful's results section.
