The in-ring return of YOSHI-HASHI at New Year Dash!! was overshadowed by Jay White continuing his ascent to the top of NJPW.
In the main event of New Year Dash!!, HASHI competed in his first bout since taking a tumble at Destruction In Kobe in September. HASHI teamed with Kazuchika Okada and new IWGP Heavyweight Champion Hiroshi Tanahashi to take on the Bullet Club trio of Jay White, Gedo and Bad Luck Fale. Despite his best efforts at making his return a memorable one, HASHI fell victim to a Blade Runner courtesy of White.
Following the bout, White made his intentions clear for the New Year when he laid out Tanahashi and welcomed everyone to the Switchblade era.
