A pair of light heavyweight division bouts have been added to UFC Fight Night Brooklyn according to Newsday as #10 (Tied) Glover Teixeira faces Ion Cutelaba and Alonzo Menifield faces Vinicius Moreira.
Teixeira (27-7-0) has rotated wins and losses in his last six UFC appearances, with his latest bout being a unanimous decision loss to Corey Anderson at UFC Fight Night Hamburg. Teixeira has previously challenged for the UFC Light Heavyweight Title, losing to then champion Jon Jones at UFC 172.
Cutelaba (14-3-0-1NC) enters the bout on the strength of a two fight winning streak, defeating the duo of Henrique Da Silva and Gadzhimurad Antigulov. Cutelaba has picked up fourteen wins as a professional MMA fighter and eleven of those wins have come by way of KO/TKO.
Menifield (7-0-0) is going to be making his UFC debut in this bout and does so with an undefeated streak that has lasted over three years. Menifield also competed on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series Episode 3 and Episode 9, defeating the duo of Daniel Jolly and Dashawn Boatwright.
Moreira (9-1-0) is also making his UFC debut in this encounter and does so on the strength of a five fight winning streak. Moreira also competed on Dana White’s Contender Series Brazil Episode 3, defeating John Allen Arte by second round submission.
UFC Fight Night Brooklyn takes place on Saturday, January 19 from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York with no main event announced at this time. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
