Blair Davenport interfered in a match on August 2, preventing Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill from regaining the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship.
Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill would have defeated the Unholy Union of Isla Dawn and Alba Fyre to become two-time WWE Women's Tag Team Champions on the August 2 episode of WWE Friday Night Smackdown from Cleveland, Ohio. However, Blair Davenport had other ideas.
The finish of the match came when Bianca was setting up for the KOD when Blair Davenport appeared and attacked Jade Cargill outside of the ring, causing a disqualification. While the challengers won the match, the champions retained the gold because they weren't pinned or made to submit.
Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn have held the titles for 49 days. They captured the belt in a Triple Threat Match at WWE Clash at the Castle in their home country of Scotland. That match featured not only Jade and Bianca but also the team of Zoey Stark and Shayna Baszler.
Alba and Isla made their first defenses the championship belts in one week. Just three days before facing the former champions, they defeated Meta-Four's Jakara Jackson and Lash Legend during the first week of the 2024 WWE NXT Great American Bash.
Blair Davenport previously alluded to having friends on the SmackDown roster to combat Naomi's relationship with Bianca and Jade.
