With Jinder Mahal returning to WWE Raw on April 27, fans have immediately wondered when he and current WWE Champion Drew McIntyre will clash.
McIntyre and Mahal have a long history and similar paths as they were in 3MB together and released at the same time. Both would return and go on to with the WWE Title.
Speaking to Busted Open Radio, McIntyre revealed that there's an easy story given their on-screen history and things we don't know that have happened behind the scenes as well.
"I know a lot of people out there when they hear [Jinder] initially, they're going to think, 'No, that's not what we want right now.' Trust me, ya'll will see the bigger picture. There's a real story there, not just the story on television where we're in 3MB, we both got fired, we came back, we won World Titles. There's so much more behind the scenes that happened. So much more that happened in our personal lives that we'd be comfortable putting on television for a World Title feud. We'd put it all out there. He just needs to keep building some steam, I need some time to cement myself as the champion. When the crowds come back, I need a heel who is a real heel. We have a true backstory. When he won the World Title, people weren't so happy about it. When I won it, I was praised. Perhaps there's a little jealousy. And we have the story outside the ring. For everyone out there that's not sure, trust me, it would be something special because it would be real," he said.
For now, McIntyre will have his hands full with King Corbin in a brand-to-brand invitation match.
