Jennifer Pepperman comments on her future as a Director in Hollywood.
Jennifer Pepperman is currently the vice president of content direction at AEW. Prior to that, she was a writer and producer for WWE. During her time in WWE, Pepperman used all of her vacation time in 2022 to shoot a short-form series called After Forever, which is currently on Amazon Prime.
Appearing on the latest episode of the AEW Unrestricted podcast, Pepperman reflected on filming that project and discussed whether or not she would like to return to the director's chair.
“It was 2022, I shot a little show that’s gonna be out soon on Amazon Prime called After Forever; it’s a short-form series and the last and final season. In WWE, I took all my vacation to be able to shoot that in one block. That’s all shot on location in New York City, and it’s all shot single-camera style, and I’m really proud of that because there’s some beautiful stuff in that. That’s won some film festivals, so that’s getting up and running.”
Pepperman did say that she has a short film that she wants to shoot one day, but right now, she's just enjoying her time with All Elite Wrestling.
“I have a little short film I want to make. Maybe I’ll make it when I have one or two days to shoot it. It’s only like ten minutes long. Directing is a real love, it’s a real passion of mine. I’m actually really pretty good at it. I don’t ever close the door, but one day at a time, and right now, I’m extremely happy. Not only happy, but I feel extremely lucky and fortunate to work with so many great people at AEW. One of my favorite things about AEW is that I feel that everyone is so passionate about their jobs and what they do and that there is a genuine joy and love for wrestling and I think that’s amazing.”
Elsewhere in this interview, she spoke about enjoying the creative freedom many seem to have in AEW. Read her comments here.
