Jim Ross comments on Zack Sabre Jr. winning the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship.

Another name now extending his congratulations towards Zack Sabre Jr. is Jim Ross. Ross, who is currently an announcer for AEW, said on the most recent episode of his Grilling JR podcast that he hopes to see Sabre back in an AEW ring and that he gets the opportunity to call some of his matches.

Ross also mentioned that he recently heard from Kenny Omega, someone who has held the IWGP Heavyweight Championship and the AEW World Title.

“He’s very, very talented. Very unique, has his own style, has his own unique move set that takes the life of its own. Really creative with his offensive. He’s a racehorse and I’m sure, somewhat sure that we’ll see him again in AEW sooner than later because of all of our, you know, we’ve got a lot of the New Japan guys that are doing well. I got a text message today from Kenny Omega — he’ll be back with us sooner than later as we expect. I think the New Japan connection will extend to their champion at some point in time.

"I expect to see him in an AEW ring and I hope I get to call some of his matches. He’s very entertaining and creative. He’s unique, he’s different. He doesn’t have that overwhelming body, he’s lean, he’s lanky, but boy he’s a good athlete. I’m proud to congratulate him for success and like I said, we look forward to see him again in an AEW ring somewhere down the road.
