Jon Moxley Appears In Pre-Recorded Promo At Wrestle Kingdom 15 Night One

Beware the "Death Rider."

Even though Tony Khan did say that he wouldn't be appearing in-person, Jon Moxley, the current IWGP United States Heavyweight Champion, did make an appearance at Wrestle Kingdom 15 Night One, but it was via a pre-recorded promo promising that he was watching everything in New Japan Pro-Wrestling and gave a stern warning to anyone looking to challenge him, promising that even though they might have thought they were safe, the “Death Rider” is coming.

Jon Moxley has been unable to defend his championship due to the global pandemic preventing travel but KENTA, the holder of the contract to face the IWGP United States Champion, has been consistently building to a match with Jon Moxley. KENTA defeated Satoshi Kojima to secure an eventual title shot at Wrestle Kingdom 15 night 1.

Stateside, Moxley spent the majority of 2020 as the AEW World Champion. He lost the championship to Kenny Omega, another wrestler with a tremendous connection to NJPW, at “Winter is Coming.” Moxley is set to return to AEW on New Year's Smash Night One on January 6.
