Mick Foley would choose to wrestle Bray Wyatt as Mankind in a hypothetical scenario where they were to square off.
Mick Foley has three unique wrestling personas. Dude Love, Mankind, and Cactus Jack brought a unique element to their matches. Cactus Jack was sadistic and the most well-known for his hardcore elements. On the other hand, Dude Love was the antithesis of Cactus, a fun-loving, comedic character. In the middle, there was Mankind.
Introduced in 1996, Mankind came into WWE as a character meant to square off with The Undertaker, with the pairing becoming WWE equivalents to the Universal Monsters. However, by 1998, Mick Foley would find a way to merge the hardcore and the comedic sides of his other personas within the Mankind character. Mankind would be the only character that ever held the WWE Championship.
Asked during a recent episode of his podcast, Foley is Pod, which one of his personas would portray during a hypothetical rivalry with Bray Wyat, Mick Foley chose Mankind, believing the promos between his deranged alter ego and Bray Wyatt would be special.
"If I was wrestling Bray Wyatt, I think it would have to be Mankind. Yeah, Again, it would have that feeling of a monster movie and maybe we could take some creative liberties, you know, as far as the indestructible aspect goes. I think we would have pushed each other to do really great promos and I think we would have paid it off in the ring."
Bray Wyatt returned to WWE at WWE Extreme Rules 2022. However, he has not wrestled since competing in the Lights Out Match with LA Knight at the 2023 Royal Rumble event.
In the past, The Undertaker has also put over Bray Wyatt, saying that it is unfair to compare his character to what Bray Wyatt is doing in 2023. Read more here.
In terms of dream matches for Mick Foley, he has previously stated that he believes he would have been able to do something extraordinary with Darby Allin from AEW. Read more here.
