Swerve Strickland makes a statement.
In the main event of the August 14th episode of AEW Dynamite, AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland faced Wheeler Yuta in a non-title match. Bryan Danielson, Strickland's opponent at AEW All In, was watching the match in the front row. Throughout the bout, Strickland talked some trash, and he told Danielson that he was going to retire him. In the end, Strickland kept hitting Yuta until the official called for the bell.

Strickland continued to attack Yuta, and Danielson made the save. Strickland left the ring but told Danielson that the match was a preview of AEW All In. He said that he would ensure that Danielson would keep his promise to his daughter by forcing him to retire.
Strickland then said that he would cripple Danielson at AEW All In. He went on to sneak back into the ring and hit the House Call when Danielson wasn't looking. Strickland stood tall, and he mockingly did the "Yes" chant as the show ended.
